Kenmore Water Heaters

Kenmore

Kenmore has been in the lives of Americans for over a hundred years (since 1913) since its establishment by the Sears retailer. In addition to electric tank-based and tankless water heaters, under the brand name, a range of other equipment and appliances is produced:

  • • Coolers, freezers, and refrigerators
  • • Air humidifiers and dehumidifies
  • • Water softeners
  • • Vacuum cleaners
  • • Gas stoves and grills
  • • Dishwashers
  • • Laundry washers and dryers
  • • Appliances for the kitchen: ranges, warming drawers, microwaves, ovens, and miscellaneous cookware.

Today, Kenmore is an individual brand that is owned by a private hedge fund ESL Investments, after its mother company Sears, who owned the brand in the 20th and 21st centuries, filed for bankruptcy. Today, Kenmore is not an individual company; it is only a brand name primarily consisting of intangible assets, just like associated brands: Craftsman and DieHard. The products of the company are historically manufactured by multiple production companies, who pay royalties for that, own a part of the brand, or get rewarded for that, such as Whirlpool, LG, Panasonic, Electrolux, and Samsung. Although Kenmore has its website, where a number of products of the brand are listed, it’s just one of the trademarks of Sears, not an individual company.
